Visitors are permitted to consult the Library holdings with prior authorization. They must first download a form (.DOC), fill it out describing the subject and the purpose of their research (thesis, paper etc.) and send it via e-mail to the NATO Librarian (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The review procedure requires two to three weeks on average. Once granted, Library access is allowed for a period of six months, after which an application for an extension has to be filed.
Non-NATO staff may borrow books from the Library's collection only through their local library as we only lend books to other libraries. As an individual, please ask your local library to request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) with us.
The Multimedia Library accepts ILL requests from other libraries in Belgium and abroad :
All the books included in the Catalog are available for interlibrary loan (ILL). The only exception are items marked with 'Collection Type: Reference Collection', which have to be consulted on the premises.
